Even though I just spent the evening at a friend’s place playing Wii and such, I’m feeling pretty down and quite lonely right now.

And I don’t know why. :-\

Sometimes I wish I wasn’t so frugal. Like when I get money, I think to myself, “Hey, i can spend it on this and this and this and this and…..” But then the practical me steps in and says, “Yes, you could, but you really need to save it for when you get a job and have to move out and pay for deposits on an apartment and utilities and….”

And the practical me almost always wins out.

And it kinda sucks sometimes. :-\

I’ve been playing through Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare for the last couple of days. I’ve never really been that into zombies. But I really liked RDR, and it was on sale last week, so I figured “What the hell?”

Granted, I’m not too far into it yet, but I’m not really all that thrilled with it. :-\

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played of it. But not nearly as much as I had hoped I would based on RDR. So far, it’s just “A town has been overrun with zombies and you have to go help cleanse it,” and there’s just a little bit of story/plot mixed in.

Well, shit.

The roommate/landlord is getting married on November 5. He basically told me a few weeks ago that I had to be out by then.

Tonight, he asked me if I could move out by the end of August.

If I don’t have a job by then, I don’t have a clue where I’m going to go.

I’ve been having some trouble with my car starting for the last couple of weeks. I knew it was because of corrosion on one of the battery terminals, so today I decided to finally do something about it. It took me about thirty minutes, including the ten minutes or so when I dropped a nut into the engine and couldn’t see it, so I had to cuss a lot while I was groping around blindly for it. Before, there was so much corrosion keeping the clamp from closing tight around the terminal that you could almost pull the lead off without even loosening it up. Now, that thing ain’t going anywhere.

I feel so industrious and accomplished! :-)

But, on the down side (yes, there’s always a dark cloud to every silver lining), I dropped my iPhone face down on the driveway. There’s a couple of small spiderwebs, and they’re on the black surround/bezel/whatever you want to call it, not the actual screen. But is still sucks. :-(

The bank I interviewed at last week (Hancock Bank) just agreed to buy the bank I interviewed at a few months ago (Whitney Bank). It doesn’t really mean much as far as the jobs I interviewed for…I hope…. I just thought it was kind of interesting.

One of my best friends is doing the makeup for a movie that’s filming just north of here. We were having lunch together about a week ago on his day off, and while we were there three of the stars and a couple of the crew members walked in to get something before they left to go to a fitting for another movie in New Orleans. I got introduced to everyone, we sat together while they waited for their food to be prepared, etc. They all seemed really nice and down-to-earth, and, of course, the stars were quite attractive even on their day off.

That’s probably the closest I’ll get to meeting anyone “from Hollywood” (even though the actors I met are from Dallas and only some of the crew is from California).

My last job was tech support at a bank for six years. Now I can’t get even another bank to even talk to me about a tech support position I’ve applied for. I just get a thanks-but-no-thanks email two months later.

Are my resume and I really that bad/uninteresting? :-(

My old high school’s football team has only won one game so far this season (a 20-0 shutout last week). In the seven games they’ve lost, they’ve given up an average of 52 points. Tonight’s game they lost 70-12.

Good grief.

I’d make a horrible mayor.

I was playing SimCity earlier tonight. I wasn’t really paying attention to the warnings I was getting in the news ticker about the nuclear power plant getting old and busted. So it came as a great shock to me when it exploded and covered half of the city in nuclear fallout.

Not pretty at all. The population was chugging along at a pretty good clip, about 800k or so. Now it’s down to about 250k and still falling. And they flat out refuse to build in the radiation zone (not that I really blame them).

I might as well scrap it and start all over again. :-/
