Infrequently Asked Questions

A few things about me:

• My name is Chris.
• I’m thirty-something. I know it might make a few folks uncomfortable, that someone “that old” is following them. But I’m not following you because I’m creepy or a pedo or something like that. If I’m following you, it’s because you’ve posted some things that I like, whether it’s photos, music, stuff that makes me laugh, etc. If you’re still uncomfortable about it, please let me know.
• I’m extremely shy and insecure. I almost never make the first move in a possible friendship/relationship.
• I’m a hopeless romantic, and I fall for someone WAY too easily.
  • Because of this, I get hurt ALL THE TIME. And I know I’m doing it to myself. And I keep on doing it.
• I live in the armpit of America, AKA Mississippi. I was born and raised here. A great deal of my family still lives within about an hour’s drive of me. We’ve lived in the area for several generations. But despite that, I really don’t care for this place. I mean, Mississippi will always be home, and family is quite important to me, but I’m WAY PAST ready to get away from here.
• I LOVE to travel, going new places and experiencing new things.
• I love meeting new people. But, like I said earlier, I’m really shy, and I really suck at keeping a conversation going. Most of my “small-talk” conversations go:
  • Hi.
  • How are you?
  • <awkwardness>
• I’m an only child, but I have four full brothers. If you can figure that one out, “Four for you, Glen Coco! You go, Glen Coco!!”
• I’m gay. If you don’t like that, I’m sorry, but that’s not my problem, and I refuse to let you try to make it my problem. I try not to be all up in your face about it, but I don’t really try to hide it either.
• I have a cat named Squeaker whom I love more than almost anyone and anything in this world. :3
• I was in the band in junior high, high school, and community college. I’ve played clarinet, bassoon during concert season, and in the pit (xylophones and such on the sidelines) during marching season. (Hey, you try marching with a bassoon and tell me how it turns out!) I miss it more than I ever thought I would.
• I’m not great at anything. I’m marginally OK at some things. And it frustrates the hell out of me.

I like:

• CATS
• PENGUINS
• video games
• science fiction (Doctor Who, Fringe, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, etc.)
• fantasy (Game of Thrones, The Wheel of Time, JRR Tolkien, etc.)
• cold weather
• the smell of a fire in the fireplace on a cold day

I dislike:

• dogs (not really a dislike…more a “don’t really care for”)
• small children (see: dogs)
• mushrooms
• being single (despite quite a lot of practice at it)
